OK, this baby is going to be a January/February edition, and its very cold here then. I know you mustn´t use after market products, but what about ones made by the manufacturer specifically for that seat? are they tested by the manufacturer?

This is the seat I was thinking of:
Maxi-Cosi Pebble - Ruby Red : mothercare- Nursery Equipment, Maternity Clothes & Baby Shop

And this is the footmuff that is available separately:
Maxi-Cosi Pebble Footmuff - Ruby Red : mothercare- Nursery Equipment, Maternity Clothes & Baby Shop

I suppose they must be tested right?

I am not familiar with European products but I would still be hesitant to use anything which goes between baby and seat that did not come with the seat-even if by the same manufacter. I would call them to see if they can be used together. Maybe someone else here knows the answer to this?

Make sure your child is not one of them!

I emailed the company and they said that the products are tested at the same level as the seats. She didnt know wether that meant in the crash tests or just product quality control and is going to get back to me. She did say that this winters new products included a footmuff which only covers the outside (like the showercap style ones) so maybe I will just wait and get one of those.
