My mom is going to start taking Lily (2 years old) to dance classes once a week and it is going to be easier to just get her a car seat for that car, rather than switching out car seats from my car. Lily is still RFing and she's 28lbs and about 35". I would like to keep her RF in my mom's car as well.

I don't want to spend too much money because this seat won't be used that often. Can you recommend a reasonably priced seat that she could RF in and then FF in for a long time still please? I'd like something under $200 if possible. And it has to be something that is a fairly easy install and easy to tighten because I want to make sure my mom can do it on her own if needed.

I got a Scenera for my DD for my MILs car since she watches her 3x a week. I got the model that RFs until 40lbs from Target on sale for $39. It only FFs til 40lbs though. A MyRide 65 is usually highly recommended and people have said its easy to install. I think you can find them for around $150. I think for under $200 you can get most car seats, except maybe a Radian.

Your budget will allow for many seats that will RF for a while and FF for a while. Off the top of my head, these seats will let Lily RF until age 3-4 and keep her harnessed until she's ready for a booster.

Graco MyRide 65 RFs to 40lbs FFs to 65lbs around $120

Evenflo Triumph 65 RFs to 40lbs FFs to 65lbs around $140

Sunshine Kids Radian 65SL RFs to 40lbs FFs to 65lbs around $200 (taller than the previous 2, so could last longer, typically a tough install)

Safety First Complete Air 65 RFs to 40lbs FFs to 65lbs around $175 (this is the new model, the old model FFs to 50lbs)

Learning Curve/First Years True Fit RFs to 35lbs FFs to 65lbs around $175

If you're worried about ease of use, I'd eliminate the Radian and Complete Air. The other 3 are much easier for repeated installs. The Radian and CA are better for long term installs IMO.

We *love* our My Ride 65 My 2 year old is happily rear facing at about 36 inches tall and 31-32 pounds. She has a lot of growing room still too!
