Hi ladies.

I have another install question! I recently got a MR65 for my son. He is 7.5 months and is rear facing.

I went to install it (outboard passenger side)in my Explorer and ran into a couple problems. When I did it with just the regular seat belt and the retractor (sorry, can't remember the term), the shoulder belt pulls up so the seat is on a bit of an angle. But it is super tight. There is hardly any movement at the belt path, maybe 1/4 at most when really pulling on it.

I watched some of the instal videos that someone had posted on this board (which are excellent by the way!). It had said to use the locking clip if the retractor was pulling up on the seat. When I did that I wan't able to get the seat anywhere near as tight. There was at least an inch of movement at the belt path, if not more.

So I'm not sure what to do. Is it ok to be on a bit of an angle and really tight, or should I keep it level and have it not as tight? Or is there another option that I haven't considerd?

Sorry for the long ramble, just trying to make it as safe as possible. Thanks for any input!

How bad does it tilt? I *little bit* is ok. Make sure you pull to tighten the seat belt at the belt path, and not up on the shoulder belt or it will tilt when you pull. The locking clip is usually a last resort since it is harder to use and can take a few tries to get it in there well.

You can post pics of how much it tilts if you're unsure if it's ok
