It stands for Secure Guard. It's so kids don't "submarine" in their seat, meaning slide down and under the lap belt. I believe it can be used with a Frontier in booster mode as well.

I love the SG feature, it makes me feel more comfortable about putting Brinlee in a booster. I'm still not 100% comfortable with the idea of moving her to a booster yet though. I see the crash test videos of booster vs. 5 point harness, and all the positive feelings I have about putting her in a booster fly out the window.
