My dh had an accident today and our Graco snugride35 base was in the car but not the seat.

I'm sure it does but does it need to be replaced?

And until we can.replace is it still ok to put the carseat in the car witout the base?

Yes, it needs to be replaced. You can buy replacements at Babies R Us or through Graco. I'm sure there are other places, but those are two that I know of for sure. And yes, you can install it baseless until you get it replaced. Make sure you read your manual for instructions on how to do the baseless install.
