What was the hardest part of going back to work after maternity leave?

I have to go back in about a month...dread it already!

Hi and welcome to the board!

for me it was just wanting to be with my baby all the time. I made arrangements for my leave to be 6 full weeks and two half day weeks. So for the last two weeks I worked half days to ween my self and my daughter into being away from each other and her new routine of a baby sitter. I was lucky enough have a family member watch her

I've never taken maternity leave, my kids were born before I graduated college or during summer vacation (I'm a teacher).

The weening idea is really smart. My job allows for twelve weeks, unless there are complications that require a longer hiatus. Twelve weeks of constant mama and baby time would definitely make it hard to go back to work. Half days would be so helpful.
I'm going to have to keep that in mind when the time comes around.
