So, I apologize if this is long winded, but wanted some advice from you ladies.

I travel for work and have recently cleared my schedule for 6 weeks to be able to do a 3rd round of Follistim. As goes PCOS, I didn't get my period on time at the start of the 6 weeks. So my RE put me on a course of Prover 5mg x 10 days. Today (14 days after stopping Provera and no period) I saw my RE for US and b/w. He called this afternoon and based on my US and labs he said he was starting me on another course of provera...this time 10mg twice a day for 10 days.

This plan is fine, except if I take the provera for 10 days I will have to start traveling for work before I would be able to finish a course of Follistim. If I don't get in this course of meds I won't be able to start my next course until September because of work travel.

So...I was wondering if it would be bad to take the provera for only 5 days???? If it works after 5 days then I'll at least have a chance to do meds this month. (BTW...I have taken provera twice in the past...each time for only 5 days and it worked).

What do you think? Thanks for the advice!

I have never taken Provara but wanted to wish you well as TTCWMA is even harder when you have to travel for work. I have put off a few trips so I could make the doctors appointments and I am taking a month off so I can make up for the trips I canceled.

I hope that your period shows and you won't have to take a second round of Provera but, I don't think that you should ever go against your doctor's orders Especially since it's a progesterone and causes hormonal changes. Have you ever tried Natural Progesterone Cream? I have actually heard that when you take a progesterone supplement like Provera most of it is lost through the liver. I have always used Progesterone cream and have always had great results and I suffer from really bad PCOS so I know how it feels to miss a period.
