Ok so we got the results of the sperm analysis back this morning.

The count is awesome
but the motility is 1% which i guess means they don't move
Now I find that hard to believe since i've been pregnant 4x (miscarried all)
so they must move somewhat...

My Dr. told me to discuss these results with my RE next wednesday. can anyone provide any other information on sperm you might know? I tried googling it, but i got all sorts of crap that was useless.

thanks gals. i'm very glad the count is really good cause without sperm, we would have nothing!

What was your total count after the wash? 1% is low, but if it is out of larger number you still have quite a few good ones in there! I don't know a ton about the sperm so I am not a lot of help. But, our dr said that there has been an over emphasis on morph and the standards have gotten so high that men's morph numbers are much lower as a result. He also said that low morph doesn't mean you can't get pg, just harder sometimes. The sperm is just mishaped, but that doesn't mean the embryo will necessarily be bad from it. We have morph issues too usually about 2-4%. Have you done any IUI's or are you going to IVF? If you do the IUI's they will wash the sperm and take only the good ones. Maybe that will give you a better quality embryo and it will stick!

Hey Lynda! You can probably get lots of great advice about sperm stuff on the MFI board... but I know there are other ladies here that have dealt with it as well and will continue to chime in with some advice.

I hope your RE can shed some light on this for you too!

Yet another wonderful siggy by HeatherW.... thank you so much!!!

I don't have any advice but I second Kari that you may find a lot of good answers on MFI. I also just wanted to say Good luck! I hope it will be an easy fix and you will get a sticky bean real soon!

My DBF has low motility, slightly low count, and increased viscosity. There are lots of supplements that can help, so I've heard, and I guess that goes to show you that you only need one!

My Dh has great counts but the motility was kinda low. My RE recommended that he start taking antioxidant vitamins. After about a month of the vitamins, his s/a greatly improved....not only motility but also count and he didn't even have a count problem. We assume it was the vitamins, but there's no way to know for sure what caused the improvement. But, the vitamins are something cheap and easy to try.
