This may be silly, but I was wondering about it.

How come when I post one reply after another, even if they are totally different (ie I just responded to the topic in general, and then I quoted another poster to ask a question), the board combines them into one response? I've never seen this on any other message board/forum that I belong to. Thanks.

I was actually wondering the same thing. I don't remember this happening in the past but have noticed it over the past few weeks. It's kind of annoying.

It really is! I just responded to two different posts in one thread (and I quoted them both) and the board combined them into one response. They were directed at totally different people! Grr.

It does it automatically if you post within a few minutes of yourself and no one else has responded. I don't know why it condenses, just that it does! Thats why when I start a topic usually I wait a half hour or so to respond

It's so that you can't raise your post count by talking to yourself.

LOL I think that is actually the reason!
If you wait I think it's 3 minutes between posts, or someone sneaks one in between yours it won't combine them.

Thanks for the tips! I wasn't trying to raise my post count; I just like responding to different people in different posts, you know? I think it makes it clearer. I will wait a few minutes in between replies from now on.

You have to wait 5 minutes between posts, or it will combine them. When we do post wars or other games, it keeps someone from just sitting there and racking up 100 posts in 10 minutes.

That makes sense, but it also makes it really annoying for people who AREN'T engaged in post wars. :-/
