does anyone know what the difference is?

Do injections work better than the pills? I was given the option of going on injectibles this cycle, but 1.) I have to pay out of pocket and the nurse told me it could be anywhere around $600-$800 and 2.) I just cannot imagine injecting myself with a needle.

But, right now we are at desperate times. I am on Femara again this cycle with a pregnyl trigger (same thing as last cycle) but wondering if i should just shell out the extra money for the injectibles if that means I will get a BFP sooner.

When I concieved DD I did femara plus follistim (3 days of injectables) plus ovidrel shot and it worked well.

This cycle I tried just injectibles for the first time. I did follistim for 4 days and then today have a follow-up U/S and I'm ready for the ovidrel tonight and will do timed BD on Thursday morning. It seemed like the side effects have been less on follistim than femara.

i took femara and follistim in separate cycles - follistim should give you more eggs; i think i had 3 w femara and 5 w follistim; it is not bad at all - the needle is the size of a pin and does not hurt - femara i took from cycle days 2-6 and follistim cycle days 3 - 12, i think

yiou should ask for samples - some docs have and can get from their local reps, esp if they are writing a lot of the drug

I've only had Follistim once before and it was on a cycle I took clomid days 3-9 and then went in for a mid cycle check around cd 15. My eggs weren't quite big enough yet (only 11mm or so), so we did 1 injection of Follistim that night and they got up to 18 mm in a few days. The next cycle we did just clomid. I'm looking at doing more injectables in the future tho, so this is interesting.
