Whoa, whoa, whoa......he implanted TWELVE embryos? How have I never heard this? That guy is nuts, that is so dumb and SO not safe for the mom or babies! I just figured she implanted a few and some kind of freak multiplying happened like Kate Gosselin. WOW, that guy definitely needed to lose his license!

Kate did IUI w/ injectables...as did the family who is on TV now in Quintuplets by Surprise...they did IUI w/ injectables and donor sperm. That's why DH and I were too scared to try that route

I know, but I remember Kate saying somewhere (on TV or on some kind of interview) that she only had 2 or 3 eggs that month and that obviously the embryos had split a few times! I just cant believe this Dr knowingly implanted TWELVE embryos, that is outrageous.

I agree...totally outrageous. What really breaks my heart is that I'm sure there are women out there who paid him a ton of money in the hopes of having a child, and they might not have gotten that chance because of his carelessness/negligence. Can you imagine finding out that your RE was doing things like that?

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if my first RE was doing things like this. He rushed me into an IUI knowing that my right tube was blocked in some way, on a cycle where the egg was on the right side! What a piece of crap Dr! Only looking to make $$$!

Ashley, that makes me what to get in the car, drive over to that doc, and strangle him with my bare hands! It is just beyond comprehension that anyone could take advantage of a couple's infertility to make money. What a scumbag...I'm so glad you are seeing someone new very soon

I posted page after page about this guy on the debate board-- there is a current thread there about this situation. Suffice to say, in summary: GOOD.

They let him off the hook in the past about Nadya. The case that actually brought all this light was an IF patient who had cancer, which should have been caught in her IF lab results. The doc missed it. THAT is what brought him before the board, and only then did they finally decide to slap him on the wrist. They reviewed him before in 2009 about Octomom, but let him go. The Medical board intervened because of his negligence as a doctor in general, not necessarily because he did some inadvisable things as an RE. They just added that to his case file after they began the investigation.

About time!!!!

My RE may not have the highest success rate but he also won't take anyone without a known problem before 12 months and he goes up the ladder before jumping. When I first met him we went over my records and came up with a plan that he said could semi change after some testing. When the other Dr in the office wanted us to jump to IVF with PDG after finding out about DH's balanced chromosomal translocation, he said he'd feel more comfortable trying some IUI before jumping to that. His goal is to get you pregnant, yes, but isn't in it for just the $$$$.

Amen! I can't imagine a good RE transferring 12 embies into a woman with the worst fertility problems known to man, much less a woman who already had 6 kids and clearly had the ability to become pregnant. Not to mention the things he did to his other patients. He is a horrible excuse for an RE, doctor, and human being.

She refused to do frozen cycles. Octomom still has around 38 frozen embryo's right now, that she can still use. She is not restricted legally from having more children. All 14 kids were IVF babies
