Hi ladies! I've been randomly lurking for a while, but now it's time for me to join you. I just took a few months off from posting on JM, but I know how nice it can be to have support from people who know what you're going through, and also I can see that I can really learn a lot from you all---so I'm back.

My name is Jenna. I'm 31, and I am a nurse (although unfortunately not in ob/gyne!) My daughter Brooklyn will be 6 in August. I got pregnant really easily with her (wasn't preventing at all). Over the past year or so, my cycles have gotten all out of whack. I went to the doctor several times, and basically everything was coming back fairly normal, so they kept saying since I wasn't ttc, not to worry about it. But now I'm ready, and I can't predict from one month to the next what might happen. My longest cycle was 109 days. So I went back to the doctor this week, and had bloodwork & an ultrasound. Today he gave me Provera to take if I need it, and Clomid. He talked to me about insulin resistance (I have gained way too much in the past year, despite doing Couch to 5k!) So...I have a lot to learn, and I apologize in advance if I ask dumb questions! Can't wait to get to know you!

Welcome to the board! I'm Jennifer, your host here. I've been TTC #1 for 5+ years now.

I'm glad to hear your doctor is being proactive now that you are TTC. Are they going to do any monitoring while you are on clomid? Good luck with TTC #2.

Nothing at first. I had AF May 27, so he said I can wait & see if it shows in June naturally & basically decide myself when/if I'm ready for Provera---like don't start taking it 2 weeks before vacation...lol. (I'm really hoping someone here has taken it before & can give me some insight.) He ordered Clomid 50mg on CD 5-9. He said to try that for 2 cycles & if nothing happens, to go back to see him. He said at that point, he would recommend the OPKs & maybe adjust the dosage. No real medical testing planned otherwise, and honestly, I'm ok with that. I might feel differently if I had been really trying for a while, but to be honest, I just started a new job & I know I would stress about trying to get time off to go to appointments & making up my hours, etc.

Welcome to the board! I've taken provera a few times. Normally when I take it I start between 3-5 days after my last pill. I hope you get your bfp very soon!
