Hi ladies! Some of you may remember me, I had two IVF cycles in 2010 and the second resulted in my sweet daughter Khloe. I had two snowbabies left over from the IVF and did two FET's (one embie each time) last year with no success. Both embryos were good/great quality and my lining was perfect. No rhyme or reason for the BFNs.

We are paying all out of pocket now and my RE suggested a few IUIs. Have any of you heard of IUI working after failed IVF/FET? Here's a brief rundown of my history:

me - 37 years old
DH - 45 years old
TTC naturally 10 months
lap surgery discovered stage 2 endo - removed all
TTC naturally 4 months
IVF #1 BFN
IVF #2 BFP
TTC naturally 10 months BFN
FET 1 & 2 BFN
Lap #2 discovered stage 1 endo - removed all
TTC naturally 1 month BFN

DH's SA is basically perfect and my cd 3 bloodwork was great too. We are truly unexplained.

Thanks ya'll!

Welcome back...Khloe is so adorable

I haven't tried IUIs after IVF, but I would definitely give it a shot! Would you be doing medicated IUIs?

Hello! Stalking the MA board! I used to hang out here a lot I saw your title and had to come post.

We are a success story after failed IVF. You can see in my siggy what all we have done. I was very reluctant to try IUI.. thought it would be a waste of time, but lo and behold here we are. Both IUIs we did worked... the first ended in loss, but this time I am on some new meds.

I would say don't give up yet! You never really know what will happen.

Kelli I am so glad you came back over...I knew there was someone who did IUI after IVF, but I couldn't remember who. So excited that everything is going well for you

Welcome back both of you! I think you should give IUI a shot. I know paying out of pocket stinks but you have to keep trying. It sure looks like it worked well for Kelli !!!

Thanks ya'll!! Melissa, of course *I* know my Khloe is adorable, but it's always nice to hear confirmation from someone else, right? And speaking of adorable, your babies are PRESH! I enjoy and appreciate all your advice and posts on this board.

Kelli! I didn't know you had done IUI! Thank you SO much for sharing your story! But more importantly, congratulations on your bfp! You have definitely given me some hope, so thank you for that. I wish you a happy and healthy 9 months and yes, please do check in more often and update us.

I think we'll do the IUI this next cycle if AF arrives. She's like death and taxes for me....definitely inevitable. I'm going to go all out and do a medicated IUI and my RE says he's comfortable with as many as 4 follicles. Yikes! What if I got pregnant with quads!??!!

Since you mentioned your DH SA is perfect and your tubes are open, I'd definitely give IUI a chance.

Good luck!

I'd say it can't hurt to give it a try, especially since you are unexplained. p.s. Khloe is adorable, and how can she be that old already???

Thank you so much! I really hope the IUI works for you! When we started going to the RE and found out about my DH's issues we thought IVF was it. I had super crazy ovulation times.. and his SA was bad. So we went through all of it.. and when the FETs didn't work I almost gave up. I was like HOW can it not work?? Since the fresh transfer ended in loss.. because of abnormal chromosome.. I have a feeling something wasn't right with the embryos we had left. Who knows really.

My DH started taking Fertility blend and it helped him SO much I was amazed. So we gave IUI a shot. I used Gonal F and ended up having quite a few mature follicles. Doc said normally they wouldn't want that many, but with our history he was ok with it. When the IUI worked I was floored. Even though it ended in a loss I was happy to know it would work.

Second IUI I was put on something called Dexamethasone.. (sp?) found out I have MTHFR of some sort.. can't remember the medical term.. ha. It affects the way my body produces folic acid.. so I am on prescription folic acid and low dose aspirin. These meds have seemed to help! Also I ended up on a thyroid med.

Whew I typed a lot.. but I just wanted to share what all we went through to get here. It was all worth it and it CAN work! I will be checking in on you

I know someone who got pregnant naturally after IVF, so I definitely think an IUI could/would be beneficial if you don't/can't go through IVF again. And you were unexplained as well, I think gives you a better chance. Now that your body knows what it's like to be pg, it may be easier to get pg. And IUI just ups your chances.

We ttc for almost 4 years and then did IVF for our daughter (yours is gorgeous, btw!!) and 6 months ttc#2 we did get pg on our own....we went on to m/c...but we were unexplained as well. I think it happens a lot more than we think.

Best of luck to you!
