Feb I had my baseline ultrasound and a cyst was found on my left. I rested from injectibles that cycle and did not go on birth control pill.

March I had my next cycle baseline ultrasound and the same cyst on the left still there PLUS 2 on the right. I rested again this cycle and did birth control pill.

Today (April) I had my current cycle baseline ultrasound and the same cyst on the left is STILL there. The right side is clear.

My RE believes it to be a "stable" cyst and would like me to proceed with Synarel starting tomorrow and max injectibles (Bravelle 4 amps/Menopur 2 amps) starting on Saturday. She had me take a blood test today and if whatever she blood tested me for is too high, she'll let me know tomorrow morning and I will have to rest this cycle again.

UGH!! I was SO ready to start injectibles again and get this baby making back in gear!

I've also been doing acupuncture for fertility the past 3 weeks and have been taking herbs and supplements.

I started my first cycle of injectables this month. When they did a baseline ultrasound they found a cyst on my left ovary and warned me that pending the results of the bloodwork, I might have to sit this one out...but said that a cyst in itself won't make me have to wait, only if it is making estrogen. What they are testing are your estrogen levels. If the cyst is producing estrogen then they'll have you wait. If it is not, they'll let you proceed. Mine wasn't doing anything in terms of making estrogen, per the bloodwork, so they let me start the injectables. I assume that's what they are looking for with you also.

Does your RE know that you're taking herbs from the acupuncturist? Sometimes those can counteract the injectables. I'm not trying to be nosey or a know-it-all, but just want you to have the best chance.

JulieMC...You are probably EXACTLY right! Thank you for that info. I didn't have that stupid cyst when I did my other rounds of injectibles. I hope it goes away or isn't producing estrogen so I can try and conceive this cycle.

MandyEllen...No, I didn't tell my RE that I was taking herbs from acup. If that would counteract the injectibles, why would an acup have you take the herbs/supplements? Hmmm...

I'm not sure why they would have you take them. I just know that my RE told me definitely not to take them when I told her I was doing acupuncture. She told me that they can counteract the treatments that she's using to control my cycle and produce follicles. I think I've seen other girls post on here that they were advised the same. May be just ask your RE before you continue with injectables and herbs.

MandyEllen...OMG! That actually upsets me that an acup would advise you to take all these supplements & herbs. The ones she advised me to take are to help my kidney deficiency and my high FSH.

I did ask my RE and she said "Good for acupuncture. No herbs or supplements!!"

I'm glad I didn't end up purchasing the herbs & supplements from my acup and bought them online for way cheaper. I'd be more upset had I bought them from her at $20/bottle!

yes, you need to let your RE know about ANYTHING you take, even a multivitamin, because they can all interact with medications.

as for the cyst, as long as it's not producing estrogen, you should be fine. sometimes they just like to form and hang around doing nothing

I've been seeing an acup the past 3 weeks and I've been taking the herbs & supplements the past 1.5 - 2 weeks everyday.

I've literally been taking 17 pill supplements per day in addition to my prenatal and calcium vitamins that I take on an everyday basis anyway in addition to this Chinese herbal powder you mix with warm water everyday 3 times per day.

I WILL stop as of today, but I am PRAYING that what I've taken already doesn't counteract my round of treatments if I am allowed to do a round.

I ditto Julie re the estrogen check. I took the acup supps until cycling, but my acup told me to stop. Did your acup know you were about to do an injectible cycle?

I was taking 24 teapills a day...but as long as you stop before injectibles, I'm sure you are fine.

I got my blood test results back yesterday and yes it was to see what my estrogen levels were at. The came out to be very low <50 and my RE gave me the "safe" go to start injections tomorrow

I also told my RE that I have been going to acup and taking herbs and supplements and she said good for acup, but NO herbs & supplements esp during injections.

THANK YOU MANDYELLEN FOR BRINGING THAT TO MY ATTENTION!! I think I would've continued to take the load of pills had you not advised me to ask my RE if that's ok.

My acup would still like me to see her weekly for the needle sessions to increase my chances of conception this cycle. She makes it sound like acup will make a HUGE difference and conceiving will increase my chances by 50%. Maybe I'll just see her twice next week. I had an appt today with her, but canceled because I just wanna go home and relax.
