My RE has been amazing and has been checking blood work like a maniac. With two early losses in less than 6 months and with the aid of progesterone we sought for genetic testing but insurance would not cover it till we TTC with MA a bit longer With Clomid I had 2 nice sized follies with a 3rd making its way to maturity with only 50 mg. The last year my cycles have become more and more irregular which caused concern for me to finally take the step to RE in the first place. Temping helped tons but I would gear up to O more than once sometimes 3 times in one cycle before actually Oing if I did. Clomid was a miracle worker and helped us on our first try but ended in miscarriage before 6 weeks even though I was on oral progesterone I went into the RE's office topday to talk about our plans for the next couple of cycles since his phone call last week and he gave me the news of PCOS Between high Antogen (??) results and more follies on the ultrasound that he would like to see... Funny thing is I had a lap almost 1.5 ago and it was never said I had PCOS from regular gyno.... I have no idea what to do for it but I do know that it completely makes sense with the irregular periods, skin tags, bit of weight gain I have had, and some unpleasant hairs popping up in places I would prefer them not to be. He also stated that PCOS can be the cause of miscarriage as well.... He told me the best bet for me was to continue with Clomid or Femara and start taking Metformin once my cycle starts... which tomorrow is my last dosage of Provera to induce my period.... We will continue with treatments and see how my ultrasounds progress with Clomid and then Femara but a new lap maybe necessary and also ovarian drilling if needed.....

No longer are we unexplained and we have some kind of answer but I feel so defeated He also talked of some changes to diet to help with PCOS but did not fully go into detail.... CD 3 blood work otherwise has been excellent.... Are there any supplements I need to be looking into to help with PCOS and possible progesterone deficiency? I need help girls....

It sounds like he has a good plan for you. The dietary changes he is talking about are probably going to a low glycemic index diet. I would really strongly suggest following it on met- it will help a lot.

Are they monitoring your progesterone levels on oral progesterone? it might not be a high enough dosage.

Yes it was not where he fully wanted it to be and stated that PIO along with suppositories maybe the best bet or just PIO on its on. That is our plan of action once DH gets back from training... so this cycle is I guess going to be a metformin only cycle and we go from there once DH is back home.

Oh sweetie i am sorry you are stressing!!
PCOS is a battle that can be won! You sound like you have a great RE and are doing what you need to be doing!
It just might take a bit more but it will happen!
It took me a while to get pg with the boys but I did... And if it weren't for MFI I think we would have had less issues this time.
PCOS can really be helped with diet and exercise as well as met. Have you been to the site soulcysters?

You are on the path sweetie!!

I am glad that you have more answer now than you have had in the past. I am glad that you have a good game plan in place along with a great RE. How did they tell you to take the Metformin?? My RE had me start it right away starting at 1 pill a day for one week, 2 pills a day for one week, and then 3 pills a day from there on out. Just wanted to say hello
