Ladies,
I have been TTC #1 for way over a year with a m/c in there somewhere. I know I am ovulating b/c I temp and use OPK's. This has never been a problem. However, I can't manage to get pregnant. I was pregnant once before, but had a m/c at 7wks. So, I am getting signs that AF is coming again this month and I am going to call my doctor to get in for a consultation. By the way, I used progesterone cream this cycle b/c I think I have low progesterone. I had it tested on a whim a few cycles ago and it was a 7 at 7DPO. I think that's low, but they thought it was ok. Anyway, question is, if I go in for a consultation, what can I expect? What do you think they will do for me since I know I'm O'ing? I mean, could I be O'ing and having a normal 13 day luteal phase and maybe the eggs are defective? Maybe it's DH's sperm? What will they do for me? I'm just so full of the unknown right now, but sort of comforted that I may have answers soon. Any advice would be so nice ladies.
Thanks -
Shannon

First off, I'm sorry Shannon it's taking you so long to conceive. But here's a few things you need to get checked out before you go do any fertility treatments.
1) get your spouses sperm quality, mobility and quanity checked out before you commit to any testing, that's the cheapest route to find out if there's anything wrong.
2) Clomid is the cheapest fertiity drug on the market, so I would go that route first, some GYNs can put you on that, but beware... just b/c you're on clomid doesn't make your egg quality good.
3) If all above fails and hubby checks out well, go to an RE and look into doing a Clomid challenge test.

I did Clomid for 5 cycles + some more, and all signs showed (by period coming) I was "ovulating". I may have been ovulating, but I wasn't getting quality eggs. Your follicles (which house the eggs) have to grow a certain size in diameter to grow a mature egg and it's release. I was releasing eggs, but not the quality to fertilize my eggs. Hubby was fine, it was me! So finally, I found that all out by my Reproductive doctor who followed me with ultrasounds and found out that My follicles weren't getting big enough to produce a mature egg. Clomid didn't do anything for me! I had to go to fertility treatments.

if you need any help feel free to message me!
Good luck hon!

Hey there!!
If they haven't already they should test your blood sugar/insulin levels and your FSH to see what kind of quality your eggs are.
If you are already Ovulating then I don't know why they would give you Clomid, so the answer will probably be in a different kind of blood test.
All the luck to you, and I will pray for you aswell. It's always hard when you are not sure what is going to come next.
Much Love
<>< Mel
