I suppose this is one of those times when we should become politically active. There is a group in Washington trying to get an initiative on the ballot which would essentially limit valid marriage to couples who can procreate. A couple would have to "prove" they can have children to get married, and have a child within 3 years or face an annulment of their marriage.

I live in Idaho, but ladies...please...if you live in Washington, make your voice heard! This seems so unfair to those poor couples who are struggling to have desperately wanted children!!
Thanks to babydoll213 for the siggy! My kids' blog Cora's blog

why cant marriage just be about two people who love eachother regardless of their gender or ability to procreate.

WTH?!? what does having kids have to do with getting married? not only is that insulting for those of us who have a hard time getting pregnant, but there are just some ppl who don't want to have kids or who already have kids from previous relationships and don't want anymore. and seriously who the h### do these ppl think they are to say who should or shouldn't be married based on the fact of whether they can have kids or not. marriage is about two people who love each other. grrr....
