Hi everyone! I'm new here. The current situation is that my fiance and I are both turning 23 in the next couple of months. We have been engaged for over 3 years.

It became obvious to us that he had ED, which lead to the Urologist. Come to find out that FH is sterile. After a couple of 3 month trials on Clomid, he is fertile while on clomid (barely). His Dr. has told us that IVF is probably the best option for us. I'm pretty new to all of this and look forward to exploring this with all of you.

My current question is, Mike (fh) learned last night that one of his medications for another condition has truly hampered fertility in rat studies. I think that although they arent human tests, he should contact his doctor to see if there is another med that can help equally without the fertility effects?

Any thoughts?

Thank you,

Wow. I think the best thing that he could do is call the doctor and just ask. Either that or ask the pharmacist where he gets the prescriptions filled--they know a lot about what meds can counteract with things. If nothing else it will give you peace of mind. If you are going to an RE he should know all the meds that your fiance is on so he can make suggestions and his urologist should know too so he isnt' working against what another doctor is doing.

And welcome to the board! The ladies here are wonderful, helpful and supportive. I know I wouldn't have made it through some days without getting on here and getting it all out.

Hi & aboard! Sounds like DH really need to make sure to tell the dr that you guys are ttc & maybe an alternative medicine can be used. Hopefully he will listen & help fix the problem. I'm Astrid & the co-host here. We just went through our 1st round of IVF & found out on Tuesday we are having triplets.

Glad you found us!

Yes I think you should bring up the medication with his dr to see if there is a new one he can be put on. Lots of luck!!
