Today it was chilly and I started to get really excited for autumn. When I think of fall I think of all the cooking and baking I like to do when it gets chilly outside. We love to go apple picking and bake pies and make cakes. What's your favorite apple recipe?

I love apple fritters, but I do NOT think of fritters as doughnuts, growing up we always had slices of apples, battered, deep fried and dusted with cinnamon sugar. Mmm...

Apple Fritters

Ingredients:1 cup flour1 teaspoon salt1 teaspoon baking powder2 teaspoons sugar2 eggs, beaten1/2 cup plus 1 Tablespoon Milk1 teaspoon salt4 medium cooking apples (cored, peeled, and sliced into 8 wedges) In a bowl, combine flour, salt, baking powder, and sugar. In another bowl, combine the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla. Add to dry ingredients and mix well. Dip apples into the batter and fry in hot oil until golden brown. Drain on paper towels. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.

Sounds good, my kids would LOVE that.

Apple Crisp is a favorite around here, along with apple cake and pie (of course)! I don't have recipes though, just throw and go.

That's my favorite part about apple crisp, the go and throw method works so well! That and the ice cream sitting on top of it when it is warm. Mmmmmmm...

Ok, you ladies are sparking some cravings in this preggo!

It's been in the 60's these past days here in Northern Indiana and fall's in the air, my favorite season. Not sure how long though, sure there will be some more hot days to come, yuck!
