Ok, any of you other ladies ever get this?

So five of my pregnancies (the ones that went all the way, not the two early m/c's) went pretty well, little to no complications. By little, I mean there were a few times I had protein and slightly high b/p but was easily corrected.

This one was a little harder with gestational diabetes and at 36 weeks here, my baby is 8 lbs and breech and I have a scheduled c-section for December 31th. Which is fine. No biggie, happens alot.

The doctor asked me yesterday if I wanted my tubes tied. I said NO! He looked at me like I was completley insane and was like 'With all these complications you would want another'? I told him I am not sure really about wanting more but I do not believe in making it permanent. He was like 'YOU WILL HAVE 6 KIDS'! I still told him I was not interested . He was like 'Well, your life'. Might as well have said 'Your funeral'.

Like I said, normally, I like him. I just don't see why he was so zealous about it.

Anyone else ever have this?

Thanks for the beautiful siggy

What a rude doctor!! He should have definitly kept his opinions to himself. I am sorry that he was so rude! You should have told him you were trying to catch up to the Duggars!

Thanks to Jaidynsmum for my awesome siggy!!!

Very sorry. Ours always asks, but don't push it. They ask what kind of birth control do you want? And I say "we use the 'it won't happen to us' method.

That's incredibly rude. Fortunately, my doctor is very respectful of our choices. He may not agree, but he doesn't act like he knows what's best for us - that part is up to us.

Whoa!! That is so out of line. And by complications he means a breech baby and GD? What's the big deal?!? I mean it's not ideal but it certainly isn't uncommon. I

My doctor will say things like "next time you're pregnant" he's very cool about whatever I choose.

On a happier note, you must be so excited getting ready for your New Year's Eve baby!!!

That seems completely out of line. For several reasons.

One -- it was rude!!
Two -- I was told that drs and nurses are not allowed to suggest permanent birth control procedures (by my doctor!). He said it was against hospital policy because it's "bad for business" . I thought he was joking so I asked the nurse and she said the exact same thing. (Of course this is only in regards to tubals and vasectomys)

So I think your dr definitely crossed some boundaries!

How rude. My dr. has never said anything to me like that. I talked about it with him when I was pregnant with Ava but i wasnt 100% sure I could do it so he said lets not do it right now, he wont do it if Im not 100% sure.
