for a natural disaster?

Since the Joplin disaster hit a little to close to home this question has been weighing heavily on my mind.
I'm not nearly as prepared as I should be and I've been through a tornado once already. You'd think I would have learned my lesson. But until last week I had gotten to relaxed and went back to thinking "oh, it won't happen again". Not smart! So I've been gathering supplies for my emergency kit.

I think we're pretty prepared here, we've got enough food to live off of for a month at least, same with water since we have a well, and likely the thing we need most would be gas for our generator which would run the house--we aren't threatened by anything where I live, really

Lucky mother to five!

We don't have anything prepared at all. I guess in my mind I think the same thing, that it just wont happen. There was a very small tornado last year, only enough to turn over a small camping trailer and the four people inside were not injured. Before that the last tornado in Sheboygan here was in 1873.
