I know this topic has probably been talked to death on this board but I could use a refresher in tips 'n tricks.

For those that had a stubborn potty trainer, what was the one 'trick' that spurred the 'ah ha' moment?
Or did you just wait it out?

I'm done as far as the 'training' goes. She knows the lingo, she knows how to work a toilet, she knows what she doing and when she's doing it, she knows how to clean herself. She just doesn't want to do it.

For that, we would move on to "the cold water" method. If she soils herself, you put her in the tub and wash her with the coldest water your tub can generate. Very nicely say things like "yes, I know it is cold. I am sorry. You are all yuck and we have to clean you." Shouldn't take more than once or twice if she is a smart kid.

I potty train using the naked method and have potty chair everywhere (we only have one bathroom). We start when they turn 2 cause I find that is about the perfect age, they are still eager to please and find it fun. I've never really had a stubborn one, well one was but his was fear based, so I don't have any tips. I do not punish when it comes to using the potty...ever, accident or not, when they are in the "I am busy and don't have time to run to the potty" phase I make sure that they go in their every 1/2 hour to hour until the phases passes or they are tired of having to stop what they are doing every little while.
