'Big' gift for Christmas?

In the Funding Christmas thread there was talk about big gifts and it made me curious how much that varied from family to family.

"Big Gifts" for us is defined by cost. For us, anything costing over $25 or so would be on the list for "big". LOL Usually, the SC gift is big - game systems or other electronics, large outside toys like bikes and basketball goals, or something all the kids are supposed to share. One year the kids got beds. One year we were given a train/activity table and though it didn't cost US anything it was a nice gift and large size-wise also. Last year they got bikes. Stuff like that!!

Much thanks to Alethia for my beautiful siggie and tags!!

A big gift here is electronics or any toy that costs more than $20.

Last year the kids got 2 Nintendo DS & games to share (not from us) and we considered that their big gift.

This year, our DD has asked for a pure bred black lab puppy - so if she gets it, that's HER big gift.

Big here is the size of the gift. I try to get the kids one thing that is larger in size, the rest of the stuff is small things.

I don't really compare how much I spend on each kid, just the same amount of gifts.

When they are little it's all about size..the bigger the better. When they are older it's also about size, the smaller the better. It's usually one gift that I wouldn't normally buy them during the year.

Big gifts here are usually $ 75-150 depending on the kiddo. Usually they only get one big gift each, and then a few smaller ones or I combine one bigger gift with a few kiddos.
