If your family was invited to a family gathering that specified "bring a dish to pass" given the size of your own personal family, how many dishes would you bring?

I usually take 2 or 3 dozen cupcakes or cookies as my dish. Unless they specify a side dish (which has happened), then I just take one large one.
I've never been to a gathering where lack of food was an issue.

I usually bring more than is necessary, just because our family IS so large. We attended a Harvest Party at my BFF's last night and I told her I'd provide the desserts. I took a cake I made to look like a pumpkin, pumpkin whoopie pies, and 2 apples pies.

I bring more. If my whole family goes its 6 adults and 4 little ones, plus a vegetarian dd. I always make one dish I know she can eat and then enough to really feed an army. Everyone is very good about remembering the vegetarian dd, but I feel better knowing there will be something for her.

I usually take a couple different kinds of things. Sometimes I double each dish, and sometimes not. But I know a lot of people only show up with 2-3 people, and when we have more, I feel like I should contribute more.
