speaking of houses......remember my resolve to not look at any till after christmas? so DH and i are driving over to our son's house today for the birthday party for the twins (they are 4 now). at a signal we saw a for rent sign for a house on a street that i knew well. we called on it and went to look at it. so here is the dilemma: it is a huge house - 2800 sf. it has 4 bedrooms, a forma livinng room, formal dining room, large family room, 3 bathrooms and an upstairs loft that is PERFECT for a play room. it has a 3-car garage, the landscaping is nice and will require minimum upkeep. the patio out back is huge and would allow for family gatherings easy peasy. so the drawbacks? it backs up to open land (so coyotes have access as well as other wildlife), it is all tile floors, ....it has orange (bright) walls and brown walls (dark dark brown) and tan walls and other shades of rust walls. ICK! its available now and the rent is unbelievable - $1700 monthly that includes the lake club membership. that is a bargain here. oh and the neighborhood is really nice. it would mean a change of school for wyatt. ....and it will mean packing to move during christmas time and moving immediately after christmas. we leave for hawaii tenetively on jan 7.

rationally it has everything we could ask for except for the paint. we dont have money to paint it before move in. we dont have money for movers but we do know we need to move soon. and really, lets be honest - why do i need such a big house?

ladies, what would you do?

Ignore the paint. You can do that over time. Sounds beautiful. Don't worry about coyotes. If you need to move and you can afford this, go for it. Sounds perfect for me!

I can't believe the price, that is amazing! Why is it such a great price?

Think about the cost of electricity in that big of house and also the cost of gas. If it is still less than what you;d pay for a different house I say do it!!
