Do you limit the number of presents you buy for each child? Do you have a budget and do you stick to it??? I did the gift assessment again last night and I really think I have spending problem! I did not limit gifts or put an amoputn limit on each child and NOW Isadora and Gwendolyn don't have as much as the others.

I know exactly how you feel. I know it's shallow and not in the spirit of christmas, but kids count presents. My dh and I try to stick to a dollar amount. Usually, it's about $100 - $150. Well, we got one kid a snow board..so none left as far as the dollar amount goes. I have gotten him some other things tho.

I also have a problem that I want to get them everything. I never got anything I wanted for christmas... shallow again...but I don't want to do that to our kids. Now, they DON"T get everything they want, but I try to get them the reasonable things.

It's tough, I'm in the same boat. I have to put a limit (mostly try to spend the same amount on each) or we get into trouble. Since all the kids are around the same age I can get away with getting a few of the same items for all. My oldest does the present counting and I always tell her that it's not the amount you get but the quality. But of course that goes in one ear and out the other. (I try to also emphasize the great feeling of giving. Hmm it still needs to sink in). So I do try to get the same number of gifts per child. They don't ahve to be expensive or big. Than I try to get at least one gift that each child REALLY wants. I'm on a budget so they can't get everything they want. My youngest is still young enough that he won't know that 'so and so got more than me'. I won't have to worry about that until next year !!
Good luck in finding a way to make it all work out. {{ HUGS }} and just to let you know you are not alone!

Ugg, Same thing here. Avery and Brielle have ALOT compared to Aidan and Ali and Camryn. Jillian is too little to be disappointed right now. I just don't know what to do. We will be going back to the store, with the little amount of money we have left and get some things that we know the kids will just love and hopefully it will be ok.

I don't really budget. I make sure the older ones have the same number of gifts, because like CyprusMom said, kids count presents. The little ones don't really care, but I still try to keep the numbers the same, even if the value is different. As they get older, their wants become more extravagent. I try to get them a few things they ask for and really want, then fill in the rest with stuff that I think they would like or that they need.

Well since all 3 of them are around the same age. We tend to get it like mothers that have triplets, 3 of this and that.

We buy something that we can all play with.

Alyssa is getting a personal CD player and a Cd and a few other things.
But we make sure that we get the same amout of presents. Not the same amount of money. My mother does the money so I'm not sure if she sticks to a budget.
