Hi Multiple Moms!

Last June I had a multiple etopic pregnancy- thankfully, I am pregnant again!

At 14 dpo my hcg level was 231 (this is tremendously higher then any of my 3 previous pregnancy)

What were your hcg levels like early on? Does it sound like another multiple set for me?

Thanks!

Congratulations on your PG!!!

Unfortunately HCG levels are not a good indicater of multiples and u/s is the only way to be positive, www.betatbase.org has a lot of information about beta levels! Good luck and Keep us posted.

eta:
I forgot to add my levels..

12 dpo 451
14 dpo 955

Congrats on your pregnancy and welcome to Moms of Multiples (and JM!)

I don't know my HCG levels, but I do know when it comes to multiples the only way to know for sure that there is more than 1 baby is by ultrasound (and even then sometimes they hide! )

Good luck, and keep us posted!

I can't remember exactly what my levels were when they were tested at 5 weeks. However, the doctor didn't say anything about multiples at that point.

I don't specifically remember my numbers but they were pretty much in the middle of the normal range so nothing at all that would indicate twins. I did not have them done with my singletons so I don't have that to compare to.

I can't remember mine either, but we knew for sure at 6 weeks. We did infertility treatments and I had to do 2 weeks of blood tests and then they gave me a u/s to confirm the pregnancy. We saw the two blips!!!

16 dpo = 482
19 dpo = 1849

My Dr. doesn't do the HCG's until 16 weeks

Congratulations on your pregnancy! It's hard to say with one HCG posted, but the ultrasound is the ultimate way to find out. Some people will increase more than others even with singletons, though the higher and faster the the levels increase, the more likelihood you are having multiples.

hCG levels aren't really a good indicator of multiple gestation, but I will say that when I was pregnant with quadruplets, the nurses kept telling me I probably only had one baby on board because my levels were only on the high side of normal. But I knew differently because my levels were much higher - for me - than usual. I can't remember my levels but they should be in my siggy for 14dpc & 16dpc (I had IVF so I know when I conceived) Good luck!!

Sometimes intuition is all you need. The HCG levels I had this time around were much higher than normal for me. They started out within normal limits for a singleton, but for me, I've never been higher than in the 100's to start with, so I just had a feeling, and I was right.

I hope you are right! I look forward to seeing you here in the multiples board!
