Is there a story behind your name? How about your child/childrens?

My Parent's made my name up. They took some letters from some peoples names and put them together.

All of my children's middle names are grandparent's names.

My aunt named me because she saw a contestant on a game show with my name: Adina. She told my mom it would be different for a first name. My middle name which is Terrae , is a variation of my dads middle name which is Terrence.

My son is named after my husband.

My twin A- Deanna Terrae is named after me. Her first name is just a variation of my first name and she has my middle name.

my twin B is Danielle Elizabeth. Her first name was just a name I always liked and her middle name is the same as my grandmothers middle name.

Not really. My parents liked the name Amanda. My middle name is Jo after my grandpa, Joseph. Quinn's legal name is George Maxwell V. Since he is the 5th DH's grandma suggested Quinn, which I loved. When he was born we were living with my in-laws. My FIL goes by George and my DH goes by Max, so I needed another name to avoid confusion. Gavyn and Kendric both have Scottish names as my DH's family is Scottish. Quinn is Scottish as well. Gavyn's middle name is John after my younger brother and Kendric's middle name is Thomas after DH's uncle.

There's nothing special about my name. But, I am a big fan of family names.
My oldest is Allison Lacey. Allison was my grandmother's maiden name and Lacey was my great grandmother's maiden name. I always loved the name Allison and never met an Allison I didn't like, so her name was picked out years before I conceived her.
My second is Eva Lillius after her paternal great grandmother.

We just liked the names for our girls. Same goes with my & my husband's names. Which doesn't make for a very interesting story to tell in school - seems like I had a lot of teachers who asked us to write a small report on our name. I hope teachers have stopped doing that these days, for my kids' sake!

ETA: When I was traveling in England, I met a man who knew all about family names. My great-grandmother's last name was Campbell, and apparently the Clan Campbell was a clan of sheep thieves in Scotland. So apparently I come from a family of sheep-thieves!

I wasn't named for 3 days. My parents had 2 girls before me and my mom's pregnancy with me was totally different than those 2 and they were the same as each other as far as symptoms and the way she was showing. They were convinced I was a boy and never picked out a girls name. They ended up choosing Sarah which was my great grandmother's name. My kids are all named for someone. My oldest has the same first name as DH, Andrew, but we call him Drew. His middle name is for my father and my brother. My DD is named for my 2 best friends who I have known since I was around 1yr old. We grew up in the same neighborhood. Ian is named for my favorite cousin who was like a big brother to me, his middle name is my FIL first name. Neil's first name isn't specifically for someone but we thought it went nicely with the rest of the names and his middle name is my maiden name. My angel Sean is the same, his first name just went well with the others and his middle name is my grandfather's middle name because I was due on my grandfather's birthday.

My dad found my name in a book. I have no middle name and my whole first name is Heidenroselein.

Abigayle Rose, Rose is after me and my aunt. Abigayle, I just liked how it went with Isabelle.

Isabelle Grace, Isabelle is after my mom's mother Mae Annabelle and we just liked Grace.

My first name had to be 6 letters and start with a C to go with my older sister's name, Crissa, which my mom found in a book. My middle name, Louise, is after my maternal grandfather, Louis. The twinkies' first names have no significance except that Paul and I liked them. Their middle names are family names, Michael after my godfather who passed away when I first found out I was pregnant and Victoria after my mother and maternal grandmother.

My parents just liked my name, Jessica Erin... if I had been a boy I would have been Joshua Aaron. Not a great story.

You guys crack me up with some of these stories! I am now calling Lisa a sheep thief!

I was nameless for three days, my parents couldn't agree on a name. Jolene was a popular song when I was born by Dolly Parton and it came on the TV, so there ya go. I am the third generation Ruth for the middle name.

Anica Lauryn - Anica is from short stories I wrote in high school, I just liked using the name and when DH heard it he was instantly in love with it, and said "That will be our first daughter's name" and wouldn't you know less than 2 months later I was pregnant with our first little girl? Lauryn is from DH's grandma who is Laura, but I wasn't having both names end with an A so we modified it slightly.

Mianna Jolie - DH couldn't decide between Mia and Makenna so he mushed the names and came up with Mianna which I loved. He loved the middle name Jolie, because it meant "pretty" and he said it reminds him of Jolene and he wanted her named after me..

Kaleigh Ruth - Kaleigh was one of the names I fell in love with in a baby book so I just stuck to my gut instinct and went with it. She is the 4th generation Ruth.
