Hi i am brand new to this message board! I am pregnant with twins and due June 3. In addition to being overhwelmed by EVERYTHING, i am pretty stressed out about timing of my shower. due to scheduling issues, i can basically have the shower at week 29 or 33. I am worried 33 weeks is pushing it, but i am so overwhelmed by registering and picking out stuff, that i dont know that i am ready to get that all done in the next few weeks in order to have the shower so early.

just wondering what you all are doing or have done and if you have any advice!

Thanks so much and im sure ill be posting plenty soon about strollers, car seats, bassonetts, etc!

Welcome and congrats! I'm Melissa, Mommy to a toddler and twins that are almost 5 months.

I'm probably the wrong person to answer this...I was on complete bed rest starting at 25.5 weeks and had my twins at 33w1d. Clearly a 33 week shower wouldn't have been great for me!

That said, I think the earlier date would be better for most twin Mamas. The further along you get, the more quickly you get tired and the more uncomfortable you become, even if you don't have complications. A shower isn't just a quick event...you have to have the energy to go home and wash and organize and put everything away. Though I didn't bring my twins home at 33 weeks, knowing that everything at home was done and ready was a huge relief...just one less thing to worry about.

I think earlier is better too, but then I didn't have mine until between 34-35 weeks because of timing issues here (I had three all in the span of a little over a week - work, church, and a club I am in). It worked fine for me though, because I had no bed rest and didn't deliver until 36w5d. You really never know what is going to happen though, so I would probably go with the earlier date if you had a choice.

Definitly earlier is better. I went into labor at 29 weeks and was hospitalized then finally home on strict bedrest & meds after week. My shower was cancelled...

I was released from bedrest at 36 weeks and miraculously went another 2 weeks to induction day at 38 weeks...that being said, I was miserable by the end and refused to have my shower rescheduled.
