Hello everyone,

I am new and I hope this isn't one of those annoying threads but I haven't been able to ask mommy's with multiples this question. I have had a strong feeling that I am having twins this time round (2 baby/babies) I will just make a list of why I think so below. I did have an u/s at 6w5d and there was only one baby, but I remember seeing a similarly sized black sac to the upper right of baby, maybe I am crazy idk lol When did you find out you were having twins. Did you have any ultrasounds before that didn't show the second baby? List of why I think it is twins below

1. I had extreme morning sickness that has just subsided a tad at 14w2d. Lost nearly 15lbs
2.. HCG levels at 5w5d were 35,000
3. I have been measuring about 2 weeks ahead despite my weight loss
4. I started feeling movement early (about 10 weeks) and I feel movement on each side sometimes
5. A week ago doc found baby on the left side with a heartrate of 162, but yesterday baby was on the right with a heartrate of 134bpm
I don't get a u/s until 20 weeks so I can't confirm

Thank you

We had an ultrasound at 5w1d that showed only one sac that measured behind. At 6w4d we had 2 sacs, 2 babies, and 2 heartbeats

All of those reasons can definitely be signs that you are having twins...good luck and let us know what you find out!

well, we found out at 8 weeks. so i don't know anything about u/s earlier then that. but I didn't have any more extreme morning sickness then i did with my singleton, didn't really feel them move much sooner and didn't start measuring ahead until mid-way. so it just kind of goes to show that somethings aren't good indicators
having said that...there is a good possibility you are having multiples. A good indicator is to see if the dr could find 2 heartbeats with the doppler, but I also had a hard time getting both babies to be found on there sometimes. when you are feeling movement try to see if you can feel distinctly different movement in different spots at the same time.
good luck at your ultrasound in a few weeks! let us know how it goes.

I am no help either. My first u/s was 8w3d and showed both. I know of several people who did not find out until 16-20 weeks, but I don't know whether they had any ultrasounds before that.

Those could be signs of two, but then it is really hard to tell. While I had ms from 6 1/2 weeks until what seemed like forever, it was never bad, just a bit each day and then I would be fine. I also didn't feel mine move until VERY late (but then it was my first pregnancy too). Basically what I am saying is that it is really hard to tell sometimes. I hope the waiting goes quickly!!

I don't think I'm any help either but I had my first ultrasound at 7 weeks and it showed both babies. I also had really bad morning sickness and I mean like throwing up like 12 times a day but that was my first pregnancy so I have nothing to compare it too
Good luck in your pregnancy!

I feel like the odd one out. I didnt find out I was pregnant with twins until I was 20 weeks! Mind you they usually only do the one ultrasound unless you see a specialist around here.

I honestly didnt have a clue, I was still pretty tiny for 20 weeks and it was my first pregnancy so I had nothing to compare it to. My boyfriend and I joked that we were having twins but didnt think anything seriously of it until my ultrasound

I will always remember the shock of the techs question... Do twins run in your family? lol I couldnt even answer her I just stuttered alot

I would loe to see pictures of the ultrasounds where twins were missed. I mean the ones Ifind on the internet ot twins seem so obvious, but I havent been able to find any pics is a series, like "Here is the US at week 7, one baby and here is week 13when we found the second."
