Hi ladies,
I am new here, TTC #2 with ZERO luck!

About me: 41 in March; DH 43 last month; DD 2 in January
Went off Pill in Oct 09 after 10+ yrs; cycles went right back to 28 days & conceived easily 4/10.
Nursed DD for 20 months, AF came back at 18 mos right back to every 28 days.
Charted BBT, used OPK's, conceived right away 9/12.
No HB @ 9 week appt, followed up by D&C 2 days later.

Life since then, for many reasons, has not been the same!

NO period at all after D&C, though I thought I was ovulating. Had sonohysterogram in March after doing progesterone cycle w/ no results. Immediately after that I got a bleed. I should mention I'd had u/s showing "fluid" in uterus, so that's prob what came out after procedure.
Did 1 month of OCP "to build up lining & produce a bleed" right after SHG. No bleed.

Finally had what I guess was AF Mother's Day weekend. Started OPK's on CD 12, and got FIVE + OPK in a row! Waited a few days, bought a clear blue easy digital kit, had one neg then 4 + OPK in a row. These clear blue easy showed several days of "high" fertility, then I had 1 day of "peak" fertility. BD around that time but might not have been enough or right time.

Tested this AM on CD 45 w/ clear blue digital HPT, and ANOTHER BFN! No AF either.

Could I be going through peri menopause?
Could I have developed PCOS?
Could I have scarring from the d&c although I've had 2 bleeds?

I am just at my wit's end here. I mean, I used to be regular almost down to the hour, and since the d&c I'm all over the place. I'm 41 & not getting any younger so I don't have time to be patient!

Sorry for such a long post! I may xp this in the TTCAL and TTC older moms forums.

Thank you for listening!

Hi Guenivere!

I am sorry for your struggle and understand your frustration! Stay strong and i'm praying God will provide and give you all of your hearts desires.

I am 29 and was diagnosed with PCOS 6 years ago. Some of my symptoms were lack of and absence of period for several moths. I was given progestrone, in which i was to take for 5 days and if i bled, it was an indication of PCOS...i bled. My Dr. performed a testostrone (Sp?) test which was also an indication of PCOS as they were significantly higher ( i mean through the roof) than normal. I was also insulin resistant-based on bloodwork. Therfore, I started getting acne and hair all over my face and body. Therefore, i had all the tale tale signs of PCOS. It doesnt sound like you have it, but i am also not a Dr. I hope that you do NOT!!! it's no fun. I currently take metformin to help with the sugar problems, which are said to aid in fertility...I sure hope so as i can not afford IVF or help from a specialist. I am relying strictly on faith at this time.

Anywho, sorry for the rambling, but i hope this helps ease your mind some. Good luck to you!

Welcome to JM!

I'm sorry to hear about your struggles. Definitely post on some of the TTC boards. The ladies there will have plenty of advice and reassurance for you.

For my part, I will say that I have known a lot of ladies on this board who have had health or fertility issues which have made conception and pregnancy seem unlikely, and who do indeed now have miracle babies. Never lose hope.

I'm Sharron, 38, UK mummy to Daniel and Michaela, co-host of the Spiritual Living and Readers & Writers boards, and always looking to recruit any UK/Ireland ladies for the regional board as well.

Hope to see you around!
