HI! I've been posting first on the april due date board then the TTCAL board and lurking here a little.

DH and I got preg after 13+ months of trying hard, then had a m/c at 7 wks. I'm at the point where I want to take action.

Choice 1 is DH had varicocele repair surgery. his count is lower, but he's not infertile (border line).
Concern — it takes 3 months before an improvement, and can we dtd while he heals?

Choice 2 is IUI. I've been given the OK for this. But we're catholic and DH is against it. Plus, we can get preg naturally, it just took forever the first time.

Choice 3 — is there some supplements, diet, etc., anyone has tried with success? I have not given up coffee (just one glass/day). Should I? Should he?

I truly appreciate the advice and support JM members offer. Thank you!!!!!

Not sure what your best choice would be, but I'd definitely take a look at supplements. I know there is a list at the top of the forum of good vitamins and supplements to take. That is always a good place to start.

That's where me and my DH are at the moment. Waiting to see what his SA results will be and taking lots of good supplements to boost fertility.

Good luck!!

Hi! I'm also not sure what your best choice would be. What was your DH's count/motility, etc?

My DH has a VERY low count (although we do have a 20-month old son who we conceived after just 6 months of trying) and he is on a lot of supplements (listed above in Infertility Tricks). He also just had a varicocele surgery on 9/10. We were told we could start BDing again as soon as he felt up to it...only a few days in his case

I did give up coffee when we were TTC #1 and I got pregnant a few months later, but I have no idea if that helped or not. I have heard that coffee can make your CM more acidic, so maybe it's worth a shot. (I've actually just started drinking it again since I've given it up for almost a year while TTC #2 with no results). As far as your DH, too much caffeine is not a good thing, but actually drinking caffeine 30-60 minutes before BDing is said to speed the swimmers up...even my doctor told me that.

Well im not sure so dont quote me on this..but i have heard zinc is a big helper in counts! I have my dh on it for morph issues (along with vit c,d,e and fish oil) and that made a huge difference!! But like a pp said..look at the vitamin section..hopefully it will help! good luck!

Im so sorry for your loss
