Do you think that we will see a significant rise in the popularity of the name Jackson due to Michael Jackson's death?

I think we might because it's already a somewhat popular name and the people who grew up during Michael Jackson's prime...many are at the age of having children.

Hmm that's an interesting thought... I don't think we will though - Jackson already seems like a pretty popular name...

I think it might increase in popularity because of Michael Jackson, but it's on the rise anyways.. so we may never know if it would have increased on it's own. I charge you, Tenille, with the mission of asking every mother with a baby named Jackson if he was named for Michael Jackson! Go go !!

I'm a little disappointed about it because I love the name Jackson/Jack and if I used the name I wouldn't want everyone thinking I used it because I liked Michael Jackson (I didn't).

Yeah, I was thinking about this the other day. I think it will get more common even though it seems to be already in america.

I agree that it is already pretty common...I just think we might see a bigger rise than usual this year....we can always look at the SSA list and compare between years....and say it's always risen 10-15 spots a year and next year it rises 40, it's fair to say that it might have been because of Michael Jackson. Kes- I won't accept your challenge but I will try and remember this post next year when the SSA list comes out and I'm going to revive it

I shouldn't see why not. Michael's always been popular, but I think we'll see a rise in Jackson's and Farrah's.
