I am always confused on how to pronounce this and it doesn't seem quite feminine enough to me for some reason. When I change it to Oceana, it seems like the name of a cruise ship.

I think I much prefer just Ocean and I would use it only on a boy.

I'm gonna say the complete opposite of PinkSunset, only because I really don't think boys carry nature names well at all. I see Ocean as a girl's name, and to me Oceane is the same name but spelled wrong.

now i have to go completely opposite keskes LOL.. i think boys ONLY carry nature names well.. there are those very few who i think are good for girls.. like the names of flowers but when it comes to STRONG nature nouns.. i think only boys do it well

so that being said.. this was actually my sons name for quite some time.. but only spelled Ocean.. i dont like it with the E at the end.. to me it makes it look femy because of Anne lol..

but oddly, even though i stand strong with my opinion with nature names with boys.. Ocean was also a middle name for my son if he were to be a girl.. but it would have been spelled Ocian (the cia is because i mixed a little bit of everyones name into my "daughter" (who is now my son instead LOL) name.. so the cia is from my sisters name Alicia

I think of it as a girl's name. I think it has a nice meaning, but I probably wouldn't use it.
