I LOVE the name Asher for a boy. The problem is i need a middle name that separates the "er" sound since our last name ends in "er" as well.

To give you a hint of my tastes, I like obscure but classic.. like our girl names are:

and our kids names are Sarah and Corbin.. and if we have a girl I really love Charlie elisabeth.

I don't like over-used MN's such as james, michael, allan, etc.

Any help would be great!!

Adore Asher I think the other girls gave you some great suggestions. I prefer a traditional, common name as a middle name so I'm not much help.

Typically, when a child's name is called (school roster, appts, etc...) just his first and last name will be called. So, it might sound funny to have an Asher Carter (or whatever your last name is). A good recommendation for a baby's name is to consider it as a full name - fn, mn, and ln - as well as just fn and ln.

I have a similiar problem with two boy names I like. If you say just the first and last name, the sounds "run into" each other. And, as his mn would not be used by people outside the family, it was something I had to really consider when we named our son.
Thank-you GraysMama for my beautiful siggy!

Asher is a very cute name but I would have to agree with mommaoncloud9. The same sound ending doesn't usually go over well and the MN wont be used often enough to "break it up" like you're hoping..

Have you considered Ashton? Equally cute name in my opinion and you wouldn't have the double -er problem!

Yeah I've thought of Ashton but I really don't like it.. lol Thanks for the suggestion though!

I know the mn won't be used much so I'm really stuck.. I love Asher so much!

I like Asher William. If DD1 was a boy, we had chosen Archer William.
