Sorry for the long explanantion (thanks ahead of time for reading!).

We are expecting our 4th a boy in December. When we were pregnant with our 3rd child, I realized that our first 2 children had one syllable first names, so I was obsessed with continuing that trend and of course now the same with the 4th. However, it also occurred to me that the all have the "cuh" sound in one way or another (completely unintentional I swear!).

So, DH is really stuck with the name Mack. At first we thought we would spell it without the K, and use a middle name that starts with an A so that his initials actually spelled his name...how often do you get to do that??! We were supposed to name the last boy Mac, but I never warmed up to the name for some reason, and finally after he was born decided instead to name him Brock. I had promised DH we would use Mack this time...and felt better with it spelled with a K and gave up the middle name with an A idea.

Even after all this time to think about the name, when it comes to actually using, I'm really not sure I want to! We've been told before by people that all our children have really strong names, and I want this one to fit the same mold.

Any suggestions? Before I realized the "cuh" sound with all of the kids, I really wanted to use Holt.

Also, would you use the spelling of Mac or Mack? If we use it without the K, I will definitely pick an A middle name.

DH likes Mack Everette
I would prefer Blake, put hesitant since our 3rd child's name starts with a B.

Mom to:

Brock Grayson 10/8/07
Claire Emeline 06/27/02
Luke Shelton 03/28/00

All c-sections babies, all BF for 1 year

anxiously awaiting Colby Mack to join us (via c-section) on December 8

I like Mack with the K. For some reason spelling it Mac looks more nicknamey to me where Mack could stand alone.

I really like Blake but agree, it's a little close to Brock.

What about a name starting with K?

Luke <--ends with it
Claire <---starts ith it
Brock <--- ends with it

Youre due for one that starts with it

You could also consider something with the X since it makes such a similar sound

ETA: I replied, saw my son's name in my siggy and thought of Jake and Jack

What about something that ends in R? The two boys have names ending in the K sound, but your DD has a name ending with an R sound.

... too bad that's the only one I can think of that is one syllable

I also like the idea of using a K name. If you use Mack, I like it with the ck ending instead of just c.

I prefer Mack with a k at the end. I don't see why you can't still use an A middle name. Mac initials are still cook with Mack and the first name?

Mack Andrew
Mack Aaron
Mack Aidan
Mack Adam
Mack Allen

Definitely prefer the spelling Mack. I like Joni's suggestion about having a name that starts with a K.
