My top 5 that I ADORE but won't use (mostly due to popularity)

Hayden- DH and I both LOVE this name but it just goes against everything I want in a name and is way too common with Blaise.
Jack- Love Jack...just too common
Isaac- like Isaac with Blaise due to the Isaac Newton/Blaise Pascal reference
Maxwell- love but have a very negative association with "Max" and therefore won't use.
Rhett- I think this fits my criteria of what I want in a name and I like it with Blaise but DH won't go for it and it rhymes with my cat's name.

Eden- my neice's name and more common than I prefer
Caroline- negative association and doesn't fit the "style" of Blaise/Avenley. Also too common.
Charlotte- see above (except no negative association)
Avery- too close to Avenley (assuming we have an Avenley one day) and too common.
London- love it...just too common

can't really think of any boys names, but can think of 5 girls names - and I wouldn't use any of them, because they are too short with my other girls names (Gabrielle & Emersyn)... but would probably use for middle names

Aiden: & the other -ayden /aiden names. LOVE Aiden but the popularity bugs me. =/
Christian: Bad exboyfriend, which is unfortunate because I like the name
Lazarus: Secret love. I absolutely ADORE the name Lazarus for some reason, but I just don't see being able to use it on an actual child.
Gabriel: ADORED. Told my cousin I adored. She used. Sad. Her son is adorable though and she really did love the name after we discussed it, so it's okay.
Dante: Love. Met a cat named Dante now. He's adorable, but I can no longer see it on anything but his fluffiness. xD

Madalyn: My ex and I were going to use this before I miscarried because it was a mix of our names (Maggie & Buddy: Maddy), should we have a girl. I adore the name so very much....I just couldn't use it now. It's becoming quite popular anyway, I know four (!) girls named Maddy under two.
Clementine: Adore. My favorite movie is Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Even though I live in the deep south though I still don't see it not getting made fun of relentlessly.
Cinder: One of my exes and I thought of this name whilst debating Ash. I told my mom. She said "Send her? Cinder down to the well to get a bucket of water? " Needless to say. Gone.
Aurora: Love even if it's a mouthful. My exhusband (and still friend) and his fiance are strongly considering using it for their little girl that's due in December now though, so I don't think I could use it.
Freya: I might still be able to use this one....I'm just very careful about what my future child could be picked on constantly for.

I've got quite a few names on my list that are, while not UNIQUE, very uncommonly used, especially for my area of Arkansas. I may never be able to stir up the guts to actually use some of my favorites.

Can't think of 5 each, so I just have three each:

Margaret- Not Celtic enough for us. Our children get Irish, Scottish, and Welsh names only (that's important to us), and while I *adore* Margaret, it's just not Celtic enough for us. And I don't like the Celtic versions of the name.

Daphne- Same reasons^. I happen to love a lot of Greek names, and Daphne is probably my favorite. But not usable for our kid. I am, however, planning on naming my next female pet Daphne (to satisfy my desire to use the name, lol)

Caitlin- Well, it's Irish... and it's cute. Almost didn't put it on this list because I don't LOVE LOVE it... but I'd consider using it if it weren't for two reasons: (1) It's way way way too popular; and (2) It's the original form of Kathleen, which happens to be the name of my husband's ex-fiance. :-/

Colin- Love the name. Could totally see us using it. Fits our Celtic requirement... but (1) It's a bit too common for my liking; and (2) We've already decided to name our next son Conan... and Colin is way too close to Conan.

River- Big guilty pleasure of mine. Wanted to use it for the longest time before we had kids. But it doesn't fit our Celtic theme, and I guess it's a bit too youthful. It's a guilty pleasure name and that's it.

Aidan- Used to be high on my list when I was much younger, but the popularity totally killed it for me.
