Hi there!

I was really hoping some of you could help. DH and I are really stuck on names and neither of us seems to be budging I'm open to hearing new names, hoping that one of them will stick out to both DH and I so one of us doesn't have to pull a trump card when this baby does arrive. Our other children are Landon and Evan. Our last name starts with a D so I'd like to avoid doubling that letter as it's a single syllable last name and most names end up sounding like porn star names

My favourites are Cooper and Fynn. I also tend to like names that are a bit different but not weird. I just don't want my kid to be the third or fourth kid in his class with the same name.

DH's list has Jacob, Cameron, Riley and Braydon. He tends to like very common names and doesn't read mommy boards so he has no clue just how popular names even really are.

He thinks my name choices are "weird". I like the names he's picked but they are too common. Out of his list, I'd have to say I'd only consider Jacob if we spelled it differently than "Twilight" or Riley. I liked Cameron 5 years ago but some of my family is giving me grief over using it since my cousin Camille passed away 1.5 years ago and we called her Cam for short. And I'm just so over all the "aydon" names in our area.

Thanks in advance for any help! Now that we are getting closer, I'm really starting to stress this baby will remain nameless

With your sibset I like Riley and Cooper. I love Jacob, but know it's very common in the States and I don't think spelling it differently would really be fair to the child, they'd have a lifetime ahead of correcting people and could still be one of 3 or 4 Jacob/Jakob's in school.

Thanks to Jaidynsmum for my fab siggy x

Thanks ladies! I'm going to write all of these down and give DH a new list to peruse. Hopefully there will be at least one we can both like! I'll keep you updated, especially if he just adores one of your suggestions

I love Jacob. I know it's like the most popular name in the US, or close to it, but I haven't met ANY young children named Jake/Jacob recently, so I'm wondering just who is naming their kid that these days. Are they all in hiding or something?

Riley and Braydon all seem like names that are cutesy and trendy, but that in ten years will sound silly. Cooper makes me think of the movie Center Stage, which just makes me feel silly.

Trying to keep in the trendy, but not overly so vibe:
-Emmett (you mentioned the Twilight thing but honestly that's a passing fad and it's a cool name!)
-Callen or Caleb

I also wonder if you like the vibe of:
