DH and I are thinking of getting a new puppy. DH promised me I could name it. It would most likely be a male. I've never named a dog before. I'm thinking of Caden. I figure I should use a name I love that I wouldn't ever use on an actual child. Anyway, do you think Caden would be a good name for a puppy?

Thank you to pattyandthemoos for the beautiful siggie!

Dogs names should be kept to one or two syllables but that's the only "rule" (for training purposes it is better).

The photos of your dogs are cute. Sorry about Xander.

But actually if you have a dog named Fred, you should get a female and call her Ethel (sorry... huge I Love Lucy fanatic). I think of my dog Hamilton as my kid, too, and with dogs as well as children, I think it's best to "match" names. IE Fred is classic and timeless and Caden is verry modern and sporty. But if you really like the name Caden, I'd go ahead with it.
