Hi! I'm Marti. I'm expecting my first child in January.

I am very interested in exploring baby names because I teach 800 students per year and because of that, many names are out of the running from the get go! Please, don't be offended when I say that, but it's true that teachers have "certain" students who kind of spoil a name for them... :/

Anyway, I'm looking forward to this journey!

I think everyone has people in their lives that will spoil a name for them, from personal acquaintances, to celebrities, to literary characters. The upside is that for every name you cross off your list because of association, there's probably one that moves up a couple slots for the same reason.

Hello! I also work in education and yes there are definitely certian children who corrupt a name and forever tarnish it with negative thoughts. Good luck finding a name here that doesn't bring up visions of children you once taught!

LOL Marti! My Dh is a teacher and there have been so many names I wanted but he vetoed due to a student association. Just another "perk" of the job!

What type of names do you typically seem to like? Traditional? Trendy? popular? not too popular? Really unique and exotic?

Thank you Kiliki for my awesome siggy!
