So I am having my third gril come Aug and DH and I have had a hard time with names.
We both like Ellie....and DH has a great Aunt that was Elanor.

Well DHs sister thought Elanor was cute and we can call her Elle (LOVE this) Ellie or Nora (LOVE this)
BUT. I don't like the traditional spelling.
My BFF came up with Ellenore...WDYT?

I'd stick with Eleanor, personally.

I would use the traditional spelling, Eleanor.

You could just add an L to DH's mom and sister's spelling and do Ellanor or Ellanore* and use Ella as well I love Ellie...we are using that nickname too but doing Elliana. We are adding an L to the traditional spelling of Eliana. I just thinks it's cuter and lends itself to the nickname Elle/Ellie/Ella better. I prefer the spelling Ellanore! I actually picked out the nickname first then searched for the full name!

First of all, I LOVE Nora, and Eleanor is absolutely lovely.

If you don't like that spelling perhaps you would like Elinor - which I consider to be historically grounded and classic (it is the version used in Austen's Sense and Sensibility). I'm not a fan of any made up spelling, as for me, they tend to take a lot of class away from a very nice name. Just my opinion, however!

I prefer the spelling Eleanore, everything else looks made-up to me.
