What do you think of the name Whitley for a little girl....

My DH and I are trying for #2 soon and we want a little girl next

I'm being silly and already thinking of names....I like unique names that aren't TOO crazy.

My son's name is Wesley. Do you think Whitley is too similar to Wesley or a cute name that compliments Wesley? Their nicknames would be Wes and Whit.

Anyone think it's too masculine?

I don't think it's too masculine but it does remind me of a T.V. show that used to be on, so that's the reference it calls to mind. I think they might be a bit similar in that they both start with W and have the same 'ee ending to them, but not horribly so.

I think they are close, but it's not painfully close. Something to consider would be what you'd name a third, when you're first two match so much. If you're not intending for a third then it doesn't matter.

I do think it's a masculine sounding name, but because it's so close to Whitney is passibly feminine enough to work.

I like it but a 'W' name that also ends in 'lee' just seems to matchy for me. I like Whitney just as much (if not more) and you still get Wes and Whit.

I like it but I agree that they're very similar. I would think that could maybe get a little confusing.

Oh and you're not being silly for thinking of names already. You're definitely not alone there!

SO cute! I love the two names together! It's adorable and Whitley is so unique! I think I'm a fan of the spelling Whitlie best though. It just makes it a bit more girly!

I don't care for the name Whitley, especially on a girl. And, IMO, Whitley and Wesley are too matchy for sibling names. They start AND end the same way.
Thank-you GraysMama for my beautiful siggy!

To me it's to close. I agree with PP about having another child. If you're not going to then that's fine but if you are, will you think of another W & -ley ending name?

It is a cute name.

Thanks ladies! Yeah, DH loves it and I really like the name too but since we already have a Wesley I think I might get tongue tied if we name our second Whitley.

We aren't planning on having a third as of now but who knows what the future holds
