...use a double "a" for endings?

Hubby and my two favorite names are Eliza and Clara for a girl. We are considering using both if our baby is a girl. But I prefer those versions, versus the longer versions.

Do you think it's weird to have a Clara Eliza? (My preferred combo). I mean, Clara Elizabeth is fine. As is Eliza Claire. I don't care for Eliza Clara as much.

Which of the four would you pick? Last name sounds like Locks.

Having the two names end with the same sound would bother me.

I'd pick Eliza ClaireThen Clara Elizabeth

I can see how it would bother some people. My sister's name is Joanna Victoria so obviously it didn't bother my dad and his wife. I'm a big advocate of using what you love so it wouldn't bother me in the least, in fact, I think it's feminine and beautiful. I think it's a great combo and I'd do it.

I also like Spotts suggestions as well if you think that the double A would bother you.

Thank you Kiliki for my awesome siggy!

Clara Eliza sounds perfectly fine. I would do it in that order versus Eliza Clara, though.

I like Clara Eliza. Ideally, I would probably try not to have the same ending but I don't think it's that big a deal if you really like the names. Eliza Claire is nice too.

I LOVE Clara - it's always been on our list just in case but it doesn't really work with our last name. Especially in French. You know what I mean

^^Yah, too many repeating sounds. Although you know I have no French skill. Lol. I'd have to ask you about that in person.

Now hubby is kinda balking at all the names on our list. I think this one is gonna be hard all around.

(Clara means the same thing as "Robert" and you know why that is important to me right now. So I am hoping he comes around if this LO is a girl).

I remember you from the Sept '11 DDC / PR! Hi, and congrats on a new LO.

I like Clara Eliza. It's not my favorite name but I think it sounds good together.

it's not really the double "a" ending but that names together are hard to say aloud. i think it's the repeated "l" in the names.

that said, of the two full names, i like Clara Eliza. my favorite of the four would be Eliza Claire.

I like double -a endings as long as the syllables in the names are different.
Clara Eliza works great but I wouldn't like Clara Ella, for instance.

Thanks for all the input ladies. In the end, this is our top girls name. We have a 50-50 shot of using it Both hubby and I feel it meets our desires and we both like it. So, maybe we will have a Clara Eliza, maybe we will have a Sawyer Robert. We find out in late-feb or early-March! Thanks!
