We keep going back and forth between these two names and can't seem to decide. This will be a middle name, not first, but we're not concerned with flow. Simply trying to pick the nicer name. Also, were Jewish, so both names are Hebrew. What's your favourite?

Yael is pronounced like Ya-Elle. Not like Yale, the university.

I can't really manage to pronounce Yael in a way that sounds like anything to me, but I love unique names.

Rachel is a beautiful name but is very common, so my vote would be Yael.

My personal preference would be Rachel, but both are nice and have significance to you. At least in my circles, Rachel is fairly common and Yael is uncommon, so if that matters to you, you might think about which you'd prefer (common vs. uncommon). Good luck!

Both names are pretty nice and cute. But Rachel would be my pick if I have to choose - it's a common name and easy to pronounce.
