Since I was a teenager if I bent down in the wrong way, my hip(s) would pop out of place and I'd have to punch my hip to get it back in.

Over the last few months, my left hip has continually been sore.

Does anyone have an idea what this is?

this is definitely something you should see a doctor about! in the mean time, i would look into ways to alleviate the soreness. i have a similar problem of soreness and constant pain in my right arm (doctors still dont know what causes it). i do bikram yoga 2x a week, take LOTS of baths with muscle soaks, and make sure to sleep on a good mattress. i switched to a memory foam but you should look into other options as well...as they say, different strokes for different folks! you can buy the mattress online for very cheap these days. bath salts can be found almost anywhere, though i would suggest somewhere nice like bath and body works where you can pick out a nice relaxing scent. hope this helps!
