I am almost 20, and have had my cycle since I was about 13. It has always been very regular, aside from being a few days late on 2 occasions. Recently, I have had a bit of trouble figuring out what is wrong with me. In May I had a normal cycle but I have missed the last two... They didn't come late, there was no spotting or any signs of a period.. they just never came. I have also had some other symptoms that point towards pregnancy but I took several HPTs and all were negative. I went to my OB/GYN yesterday and they did a urine pregnancy test, gave me birth control, and all but pushed me out the door. I asked if there was anything else that could have caused this and I got the generic "stress, change in activity, blah blah" speech. Well I could have read about all that online.. I HAVE read about all that online and I am just not satisfied with my Doctor right now. He gave me a 3 month trial of a new birth control and told me to start it this Sunday. Not even to wait for a normal period and then start it... I do not feel comfortable just starting the birth control and hoping I get a period at the end of the month. Has anyone else gone through this or anything similar? Could I actually be pregnant and my hormones are just too low for a urine test? Should I see another doctor? I'm so confused at this point, and I know there is a long list of possibilities.

Hi there. Just wanted to throw my 2 cents in. I had the same issue. I have 6 normal periods and missed 2 and am now 2 days into what I think is my period after not having it since May! I had several blood and urine tests and all were negative so I think my body just missed 2 periods for no reason. My DR is no help either. I go to a free clinic as im uninsured. She is testing my hormones because I cant take BC due to leaky boobs and such...anyway I guess its ok to skip a period or 2, but keep an eye on it. I think you would have a positive test by now if you were pregnant but if u feel the need request an ultrasound. Good luck! And don't stress!!!
