I'm 24 weeks pregnant, and I have been prescribed lorotabs for the majority of it. I constantly have issues with kidney stones and back pain, and recently they prescribed me Skelaxin. I was hesitant to take it because of what I had read online about it. I figured I was just being paranoid but when I read the papers that came with the prescription I was shocked. The paper specificly says not to take while pregnant, and now I'm really concerned. It's Skelaxin 800mg. Is this safe during pregnancy? Why would my Ob give this to me if it wasnt? Has anyone else been prescribed this during pregnancy?

I would call the pharmacy and talk to the pharmacist. Then, based on what he/she says call your OB. Talk to him/her and voice your concerns.
Mom to 4 girls - age 11 (1/05), 9 year old twins (1/07), 21 months (7/14) and baby BOY is due May 26, 2016.

I tried calling multiple pharmacies, and they all told me the exact same thing. They all told me not to take it. They said some places quit giving this med out because of the dangers it causes in an infant. Apparently, it can lead to a miscarriage. I'm glad I haven't taken this yet, and I'm glad I did research on this. I'm just so shocked that my gynecologist prescribed this to me.
