Hi, All.

I just thought I'd introduce myself. I'm 33 years years old. I have a 3 year old DS who was conceived naturally after 3-1/2 years of trying (although the Dr. believes the Prednisone I was one acted like a fertility drug). Anyways, we've been trying again for 3 years now, actively seeking continued medical assistance for the last year. Since I do not ovulate at all and we can not afford to do IVF we are looking in to the option of adopting a "waiting child" in foster care.

Is anyone here from Canada (as adoption laws can be very different between Canada and the US)?

We will be going to our first info seminar next Tues. That way after my specialist appt. next month we can decide if we want to proceed with more medical treatments or if we want to move on to adoption.

Welcome. We are currently adopting from Korea so I have no idea about the foster care system or Canada. Congratulations on moving forward. Adoption is an amazing experience and I wish you the best in your decision.

I'm not in Canada, sorry. We did just get into the US foster system though, and I can say I love it! I have our first foster son placed with us right now. We started as wanting to only adopt, but through the process my DH decided he'd like to foster too (that's all I waiting to hear). FS is not available for adoption yet, but it is a possibility which is why he was placed with us.

I wish you all the best! I pray what is best for your family is what happens. The foster system is such a blessed place to enlarge your family... these kids just want so much to be loved and cared for! Good luck!

Thank you to AlexAiden Mommy for my beautiful siggie!
