Hello Ladies!
I normally post on ttcwma. I still do..but i thought i would join yall..if thats okay!

Im Jessie and Dh is Santos. We have been ttc for 3 years but are currently on a ma break. (Hoping to try ivf again in the spring) We have always wanted to have bio children and adopt. So in no way are we trying to replace the child we cant have with adoption. We absolutely love kids and have so much love to give we decided to go forth with foster care adoption. We have finished our home study, inspection etc. and turned in everything..now we are just waiting.

My question is does anyone have any idea how long it will take for us to hear anything back on the adoption certification? I asked my liscensing worker but she wouldnt give me a time frame. She said the hold up is the courts..but if you guys have already been through this..how long did it take you? (we also are waiting to hear about our foster care license too)

Thanks in advance!

So when we checked our mail..to our surprise there was a letter from the clerk of the courts!! We opened it and it said our application for adoption had been approved and we now have a case #!!! Our Licensing worker just turned all the last minute stuff in last Friday and just yesterday we go this!! We are soo excited! I called her and now she has to get her copy in and send the home study to the courts!! I cant believe its finally happening!! Woo hoo..we will be certified soon she said!! YAY!!

I have never been through an adoption so I can't tell you any time frames, I just wanted to welcome you to this board, I'm another one of those women who wants to have bio children and adopt.

Thank you to the wonderful ladies who mad the blinkies!

"The Lord compensates the faithful for every loss. That which is taken away from those who love the Lord will be added unto them in His own way. While it may not come at the time we desire, the faithful will know that every tear today will eventually be returned a hundredfold with tears of rejoicing and gratitude..... These experiences, while often difficult to bear at the time, are percisely the kinds of experiences that stretch our understanding, build our character and increase our compassion for others."

I'm a foster and foster to adopt mom. Once we finished our MAPP class and got all the paperwork done (we did it during the class) and such we were licensed within a month.

We don't have a different certificate to adopt versus foster here. We can do both with just one license.

If all your paperwork if complete and your fingerprints have been returned (that took the longest for us) it shouldn't take too long. But you never know. Fostering is one big waiting game, I think.

Glad to have you here!! I hope to hear about a child who has come to you soon!!

Thank you to AlexAiden Mommy for my beautiful siggie!

Hey Kari!! Nice to see a familiar face!

Beth! Thanks for that info! I think we get a liscens for foster care and a certification for adoption. We had to get a second set of finger prints. We already have a finger print card (level one) we have been turning stuff in for a while now and we finally got our mapps certificate..our lw said the hold up would be the courts..i hate waiting..but i think you are right..i guess it will all be about waiting! GRR!! oh well..im just happy to help these kiddos! Thanks for the welcome!
