Hi all, quick story about us and questions
My husband and I have a 4 yearold daughter and 2 little boys in heaven, My last loss was in June, we would have been having a baby in Dec. Anyways, we just found out about someone we know who is putting their baby up for adoption (baby due in Nov.) and we were trying to find out what happens if we want to adopt it.
Has anyone here had a simalar situation? What are the procedures? The costs involved? In the grand scheme of things there isn't much time to figure this out and we don't wanna just jump in with our eyes closed

When adopting from someone you know personally, it's a lot simpler. You'll need to get a lawyer, who will meet with everyone and draw up papers, etc. Cost depends on whether she wants her medical expenses, such as the birth, covered by you.

Good luck! How exciting!

Yes, good answer. Though, I'm told, some states don't allow you to pay medical expenses...don't know which ones though. Also, you will still have to undergo a homestudy.

Thanks to Jaidynsmum for my siggy!
